Foods for kids: build their inmune system while they ask for more

“My little Steven is allergic to meat” said one of my patients while I was treating her.
“Your baby is not allergic to meat, is just that he still doesn´t have the bacteria to break down the foods you are giving…”

I would like to share with you some of the good healthy recipies I learnt raising two very healthy girls.

I would like to share with you some of the good healthy recipies I learnt raising two very healthy girls. They are good because:

  • They liked /loved every single recipe
  • It helped them build their inmunity, as each food was introduced at the right time
  • We as a family, learn some new combinations of food that we still eat.
  • In the blog I talk about babies, but the recipies are YUMMY for all ages.
  • Although you will see in the table is aimed for little babies, if you have kids 6 or 7 or 12 years, they still will love the récipes…

There is a book I must recomend you:  “Rainbow life food cousin” by Gabriel Cousens. Most of the récipes are adapted from that book, as well as the food table.
You will like this post if you have babies, or little children, as is always really refreshing to have some new récipes to try.

Although I don´t follow any specific kind of diet but what I feel is healthier for my body, this chart helped me so much that I would like to share it…

One of the things that really surprised me is that you can add certain spices to your kids foods, with moderation, that will help their intestines… these are:
– Ginger
– Cardamom,
– Cilantro,
– Cumin,
– Cinnamon,
– Nutmeg
– Peppermint
– Chamomile.

Under 6 Months -And older 

  • Fresh Young coconut wáter
  • Pear, cucumbers, Apple (peeled)
  • Ripe avocado

6 months and older

  •  Papaya, mango , banana
  •  Winter squash

Recipes:

Finger food of the fruits
– Winter squash “porridge”
– Green banana

7 months and older

  • Apricots, peaches,
  • Flax seeds powdered
  • Local bee pollen
  • Chlorella
  • Spirulina Polen-Banana

Recipes:

Flax bananas
Cucumber Avocado

8 months and older

  • Almonds, pistachios,
  • Sesame seeds (tahini) pumpkin seeds, sunflower hemp chia
  • Apple, fig, kiwi, plums, grapes, raisins, currants, cherries pitted, olives, pitted.
  • Broccoli, raw carob Banana- butter

9 months or older

  •  Pineapple, beets, carrots, summer squash,
  • turnips, rutabaga, rhubarb, asparagus,
  • cauliflower, eggplant, brussels sprotus,
  • spinach, kale, sea vegetables, celery,
  • buckwheat

10 months and older

  •  Sprouts, ground greens,
  • red pepper, macadamia nuts, brazil nuts

Plum chutney

1 year and older

  • citrus fruits, tomatoes, strawberries,
  • blueberries, cranberries, goji bberries, other berries.
  • pecans, walnuts, pine nuts.
  • garlic, leek, shallots, onions
  • apple cider vinegar, miso, fermented foods, raw honey
